Glossary
The following entries are karaoke vocabulary used by the Karaoke API.
| Entry | Description |

| Song | A karaoke song. |
| Artist | A singing participant in a song. |
| Party mix | An editorial list of songs. |
| Genre | A song category such as pop, rock, Disney, etc. |
| Language | A spoken language such as Frnech, English, Spanish, etc. |
| Decade | A period in time, delimited by ten years, such as 60s, 70s, 80s, etc. |
| Gender | The gender of the lead vocalist. |
| Duets | Song where more than one performer sings at a time. |
| Lead vocal | A version of the song that includes the lead vocalist singing the main the lyrics. |
| Non-lead vocal | A version of the song that does not include the lead vocalist singing the main lyrics. However, it may include back-vocals. |
| BPM | The tempo of the song in beats per minute (BPM). |
| Key | The key of the song such as C, D, G, etc. |
| Release year | The year a song or album was released. |
| Date added | The date a song was added to the karaoke catalog. |
| Sample | A small portion of sound recording. |
| Rating | The rating applied to a song to indicated age appropriateness. For example, General, Teen, or Mature. |
| Visual background | The karaoke video displays scrolling lyrics on a static or moving image. |
| Black background | The karaoke video displays scrolling lyrics on a black background. |
| Showcase | An editorial list of featured songs that is regularly updated. |
| Logs | A method of tracking usage to support reporting requirements. |
